One reason that they generally don't "stick" is because we misuse the word, "resolution".

A "resolution" signifies that we are RESOLVED to make that "goal" happen. defines the word, "resolved" in the following way: "firm in purpose or intent; determined."

Most people are NOT "intent" or "firm" in their purpose. Most people have not actually made a "resolution" as much as they have made a "wish list".

Goals and plans without action pretty much amounts to just that...a wish list.

Too, many people "break off more than they can chew" with their resolutions.  Simply put, many either set an unreasonable goal OR the goal just APPEARS to be too big when looking at it from the "starting line".

1. Be reasonable (you can make that application for yourself).
2. Break the goal down. Start from the goal and work yourself back to the starting point. That is actually how you come up with your "plan of action". For example, if it's a certain amount of weight to be lost, you work back and break it down to what it would take monthly, weekly and even daily if you'd like.

For example, a goal to lose 50 lbs. in 8 months really can seem overwhelming when you are first beginning and trying to change your habits. However, when you break it down, it only comes out to 6.25 lbs. per month! And, to break it down even more, it then comes down to only 1.5 pounds per week (taking 4 weeks for a month) and .2 lbs. per day!

This applies to ANY goal.

Achievable, daily activity much be planned out and then acted upon.

I'll only address my thoughts on #1: How important is action, productivity and self-discipline + inspiration?

In my opinion, without ACTION there is no PRODUCTIVITY and, without self-discipline, you will not take ACTION and, again, there will be no PRODUCTIVITY.

Sometimes we need INSPIRATION in order to strengthen our self-discipline and "call to action". And, at the same time, sometimes we can actually BE an INSPIRATION to those around us by our actions.

So, to sum it all up? How important are these things to what? That part was not clarified in your question. HOWEVER, they are all necessities in moving forward with any area of your life.

Now, before anyone jumps on this, let me just say that I'm NOT talking about this "everyone is special/everyone always wins" stuff that is abundant in today's culture.

However,  I DO want to talk to YOU for just a moment and, hopefully, instill in YOU the knowledge that you ARE special!

Why? Because you are uniquely YOU.

That's right! It may sound over-simplified but, regardless, it is true and I want to remind you of that fact.

Aren't you glad that we are not all alike? Aren't you glad that everyone else is not just like you? Aren't you glad that there is no one else on this whole planet that is just like you?

Thank you for being YOU!

Now, get out there and share this YOU with the world. Don't be so afraid and don't be so down on yourself because you may be "different".

Sure, don't go into your workplace wearing a crazy T-shirt if the dress code is a suit and tie. However, that suit and tie does not have to cover up who you are. You have a unique personality that no one else has. You - being you - have a unique talent (or talents) that sets you apart from everyone else.

Discover that - KNOW that - USE that.

With all of that being said, STOP trying to be someone else, friend.

Got it? GOOD!

We all know it. We've all heard it.

Knowing and hearing doesn't mean that we actually act upon that knowledge or vocalization of this fact.

TODAY is all that we have.

Oversimplified? Maybe, but here's the deal: Often the PROFOUND can be FOUND in the simple.

We all know that TODAY is all that we really have and we've all heard that before. However, how many of us actually LIVE our life based on that information?

I once heard it said (or I read it somewhere) that "Today is the Tomorrow that you worried about Yesterday".

I've also used this example many times myself in my blogs and podcasts: "That period of time that we call 'Tomorrow' will be called TODAY once it arrives. So, in reality, TODAY is all that we have."

Plan for our future? Sure. Absolutely.

However, TODAY is the only day (or time period) that we can actually DO something about/with and it is also the only day (or time period) that we can live.

We can "relive" the past in our minds but we cannot go back and relive that time in the past. We can plan for the future but we cannot live IN the future.

So friend, take advantage of the time that you have RIGHT NOW...TODAY.

Once gone, it is gone forever to never be reclaimed.

Motivation and Inspiration / What part does BELIEF have in SUCCESS?

I began a new blog article today based on the word, "BELIEF".

Most, if not all, realize that you MUST have belief (or faith) in yourself and what it is that you are desiring to achieve. And most, if not all, also realize that there must be ACTION behind that belief or a person is simply involved in "wishful thinking".

You can go to my website http://www.FutureYouUniversity and follow along by clicking the "blog" tab on my site, but I'll share a short version of this first post in this series.

I decided that I would take each letter of the word, "BELIEF", and attach a word to those letters as to how that word applies to belief.

For the letter "B" I chose the word, "BEYOND".

In order for us to be successful in reaching our goals and dreams we must be able to look BEYOND our current circumstances. We must not focus on "what IS" but on "what WILL be" in relation to what it is we set out to accomplish.

Easier said than done? Absolutely!

That's why it is so important to absorb as much positive information as possible! We NEED support and we NEED "fuel" for our minds in order to keep our thinking positive.

Well, like I said, I just wanted to share a short version of the blog article (it's not really that much longer itself). You will also find links to the accompanying podcast via iTunes as well as the RSS feed below each article.

Hello guys, I'm quite new here so I happy to have new friends.

Last year I attended a personal development seminar, it was about your ideal life.
The trainer just said us to write on the left side of a paper how is our life today and on the rigth side, how would be our ideal life.
We had some moments of visualisation of our ideal life. Then we draw a cancel line on the left side and he said to read every morning and every night for 30 days in a raw our ideal side.
If you choose a day, you have to start over again from day 1.

By this way, our subconscious mind prints our ideal life and transforms it into reality... Since now, I attracted exactly the type of woman I wrote on paper, I have a great relationship now,
exactly my fitness and health condition and exactly the type of business I wrote.

I saw this paper last days, I didn't even remember what I had written on this and got shocked by the results :)

Just do it, it's working guys!
